Nick, I am convinced that this man has never owned a "Classic" in his life! It's a shame he decided on a DeLorean. I think he should pop down to his nearest BMW dealer and buy an brand new "instant classic", say a German MINI. It will doubtless be good enough for him. Although it would not be good enough to win a concourse at the NEC! I don't normally agree with censorship, but Martin, I would be disinclined to sign him up to our news-group, let him bother some other car club instead. You can't please everyone can you. Last time I show my car in a major show. I suppose the cars wouldn't have dents and dings in them if the good old general public didn't touch them all the time!!!!!! They wouldn't do that with at the Ferrari stand I bet. If Paul wants an immaculate classic car then why not look at the Japanese 'classics' at the NEC CLASSIC car show. They must have been at least 5-6 years old. Maybe Dusty wouldn't have been immaculate enough for his tastes. I love my car, apart from the initial running issues it's been a great weekend transport going places this summer. If I wanted an immaculate one then I wouldn't even dare sit in it never mind the enjoyment of driving it and seeing the reaction of other people. To put things into perspective, my wife's health and recovery from her operation was more important than ensuring that the leather seats were the correct perfect shade of black as manufactured over 20 years ago etc. I hope that this persons comments haven't disillusioned others in the club and to those who had a great time at the NEC. All the best everyone, Nick & PMT (the car I mean !) Paul Salsbury <paul.salsbury@xxxx> wrote: OOO eeeeeeeeerrrrrrr Missus someone wan't happy!!!!!! One had a shattered back window, all the cars had dents and dings all over them, and tatty interiors. Not outstanding examples of the marque by any stretch of the imagination! Is that all that we've got here? I spoke with one youngish person selling parts from the "boot" of a DeLorean there and was led to believe that these were fine examples of the cars. Is this really true? Also spoke with an older fellow who mentioned that parts are readily available and not terribly expensive either. If this is truly the case, why were these cars in such poor repair? Were there no other club member cars avaialble for display? Tried to post this to the doc-uk list, but I'm not a member of their club, so I can't post there! I also chatted with another fellow there (Mark? Mike?) who pointed me to the dmcnews site and this list. Such a wonderful resource! Paul Grimsby VIN: Now looking stateside for a car!
