I can see where you're coming from Chris, but I think the relevant factor to consider is that my friend's Scirocco was designed by Guigaro; and that'swhat gives it the DeLorean-ish look. I think that there are a great many cars that from certain agles (and the bottom of a bear glass) can appear to look similar to a DeLorean, but there are very few cars that share as many characteristics as the Scirocco. For example, I noticed as I was driving it to the petrol station tonight that the dash binacle is the same shape, and the glovebox operates in exactlythe same fashion. When it's parked in a row of modern cars it really stands out; just like a D. Makes me wish I had bought one myself! Regards, Mike Sumner (178) - Grimsby. I just thought I'd bring this up because of the well-known fact that it was also designed by Guigaro, for which it bares a strong resemblance to the DeLorean. I have to say that the Scirocco feels a lot like a DeLorean on the road. The automatic gearbox feels the same, the steering is the same weight, and the driving position is about the same height off the ground. It really is DeLorean-style motoring on a shoe-string. So for all you members out there that want a D, but like me the bank manager won't let you yet, then get out there and find yourself a nice Scirocco; because you'll get pretty much just as many people looking at it as would if you were in the genuine article. See you in the future. Regards, Mike. --------------------------------- Want to chat instantly with your online friends?
