Well just off the cuff, the drive shafts are Ford Granada, some of the relays are Pektron ( from here in Derby) , Chassis and wheels GKN, and Steering racks, Burman, both from west midlands, front brake callipers Ford Cortina, glove box catches VW, head lights Audi / bus. My RHD brake servo's are MG C type. Euro-spec rear lights are Rubberlights, as currently fitted to about half of HGV trailers, still on the road. The special RHD front flasher were Lucas as supplied to the Army! Interior lights and fag lighters are parts bin. Track rod ends Triumph Herald, Air con compressors are also fitted to some Citroens. As we all know, the only bit actually made in the factory was the under body. Lots off stuff was made by outside contractors especially for the car, just like car manufacturers do today. We should be grateful, many bits are still readily available to us cheap in the UK! I know I've missed lots, but it gives you a taste. Other great favourites that I have never driven include the Maxi, Princess, Marina... what a collection of er... beauties..... I wonder how many of the other parts on the DeLorean came from the British Leyland parts bin. The rear brakes are from a Jaguar.... what a contrast!!!! I know the engine and transmission are French, electronics are Lucas (UK) & Bosch (German), styled by an Italian, engineered by Lotus, built in Northern Ireland (Dunmurry) and a stainless steel, gullwing concept by a Romanian (DeLorean (The Lorean)) I think that is right... have I missed anything else???? Chris Hawes vin 5255 p.s. My car was from Arizona and I guess that is where the copious amounts of sand came from that I found sat on the rear most part of the epoxy coated frame that can be seen when you take out the tail light clusters. I suppose the sand absorbed any moisture as after cleaning the frame I found an immaculate finish residing below.
