GB licence plate suffix's at the time the DeLoreans were in production were: 01.08.80 - 31.07.81 - W 01.08.81 - 31.07.82 - X 01.08.82 - 31.08.83 - Y - etc, etc Flopsy is a July 81 build and has a W reg, DGS is a November 81 and has an X reg. When I got Flopsy registered at our local DVLA, they said if there is no documentation to say when in a particular year a vehicle was built they will always give it the earlier suffix so that you then dont get a car looking younger then it actually is. This may well explain why some DeLoreans in England are carrying W reg plates when they should have X reg plates. Of course there is nothing stopping anyone buying a 'dateless' registration of their own and fixing it to the car either. I need to know what the beginning letter of someones De Lorean license plate is. I'm thinking of buying one now for my future car, and it says something about the first letter has to be the same as the original, incase you are getting it to make the car seem younger. > > Thanks
