Well it may be, a crumple zone doesn't mean its made of tissue paper! but I've been jacking my car up under there for the last five years and its still not crumpled! If your car starts bending at that point, I think some serious chassis welding is required! I'm not saying it's the ideal place but I can assure it is strong enough for the job, and the jack will fit securely into place. I'm going to stop sending messages to list if you lot keep lobbing over hand grenades....don't like my paint, don't like my turbo, don't like my choice of tyres, etc etc. Chris Parnham -----Original Message----- From: Martin Gutkowski [mailto:webmaster@xxxx] Sent: 30 July 2003 14:20 To: doc-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [doc] 'Modern' style air conditioning Chris Parnham wrote: >2) Put the jack in a strong place, under the anti-roll bar chassis bracket >is good. > NO IT ISN'T!! - this is part of the crumple zone and can bend!!! Use the flat bit just forward of the fuel tank flap - between the suspension arms. Alternatively you can use the jacking points just fore/aft of the wheels at the edge of the underbody DOC UK Website: www.delorean.co.uk Unsubscribe: doc-uk-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ** Unless otherwise stated, all messages posted to the group are assumed public and may be printed in the club magazine ** Your use of Yahoo!
