RE: [doc] Long time in Bath

Title: RE: [doc] Long time in Bath

Dear All,

I'm happy to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a great weekend, although hosting it was quite a bit of work with lots of cooking, bed readying and organising going on behind the scenes. It was worth it, to read all the appreciation this morning. We'll have to wait and see for the future!! If I do anything again, I'd like to combine it with a track day at Castle Combe racing circuit. It's a nice track for playing around on, and I'm sure we could getthe event sponsored by local companies for that day. I'm imagining cars with numbers on, and sponsorship graphics here, with the event advertised forthe public to watch, and plenty of local news coverage to hype it up. Thiswould be a total b*****d to arrange, but would be a great outing. Perhaps for the late summer? Nowt before then though, I've got to earn a hell of a lot of cash, with Paula and I's religious wedding in December in Guatemala, times have to get lean.

        With kind regards to all,

                Stephen.

Oh yes it was fun!

I discovered my cooling fans have quit. It's really quiteembarrassing to admit that I haven't a smeggin' clue what's wrong with them. Need to do some more investigations on the ramp, but it basically looks as if BOTH motors have quit at precisely the same time.... Hardly likely!

Darren had some "good news" for a number of us:

Dave's is running lean, but only slightly and the adjustment port has never been drilled out.
Dan's has been reassembled with half the vac hoses in the wrong place and the timing adjusted to compensate (over-advanced at idle, wasn't it, Dan?)

Steve's boiled up before he got as far as checking the timing and confirmed blown head gaskets.
On arrival in Bath, Darren had been following us and thefirst thing he said was "that one with the noisy exhaust just doesn'tsmell right! He confirmed Chris' was pinking, but about an hour on the engine and it's running shaweet now.

Mine had the adjustment screws a bit out, but otherwise was fine(!)

The drive through Bath was the biggest bit of posing I'veever done in my car and my clutch leg was quite tired by the time we had finished!!

Andy snell's new engine looks fantastic, but Darren said mine'd look better(!). His chassis is also incredible - took loads of photos.

Thanks a million for the invite Steve, let's hope PSO doesn't have to spend too long at Darren's and you could hold another one :-)

Martin
