Subject: [doc] Urgent fixes
required.....
Dear All,
Been keeping Lola off the road, due to the grit, leaf mulsh and puddles found
at this time of year on the roads all around Bath. However, something has come
up and I need to see if I can find fixes for a couple of visual glitches with
the car. If anyone can get hold of the following for me, or knows people that
have these things lying around, email me as a matter of urgency. I also need advice
on a few bits and boobs. Here goes:
Does any one know if there is a grey glovebox lid around, ready to be swapped
out for a grey glovebox lid, with the vinyl coming up on the side nearest the
windshield? I really can't fix this thing up and just want to find a
replacement.
Does anyone know where I can obtain the black leather surround for the manual
gear-stick, mine has some small but unsightly holes?
Can some-one recommend a company in the south that has successfully
sandblasted, and repainted their wheels for them? I'm looking for a lacquer
finish and really decent price? Any one have any ideas?
For touching up small chips on the fascias, can anyone recommend a good touchup
paint/stick. I know fascia colours vary, but if you can remember the colour
found on PSO, it would help. How is it best to match paints if unsure?
How do you remove the glass fronts of the headlights. I need to clean up the
metal surrounds, and give the insides of the lights a clean. Is it really just
thos screws in-between the lights, or am I simplifying?
My front fascia currently has droopy parts over the head light. I've heard all
the hairdryer fixes, but how is the best way to attempt this. Is this best done
when repainting the whole front fascia, or can you do it with keeping the paint
untouched? Can it be done whilst the fascia is on the car? (Couldn't think how,
but worth a shot)
Whats the best way to get an even black finish on the rear louvers? Likewise
for the strip above the front windshield? Does this need to be painted, if so,
which paint would other recommend? Does it need stripping and a primer, or will
a new coat bond to the old coat?
Is it possible to use any sort of colour restorer, cleaner on the grey vinyl?
Mine has some patches which aren't quite perfect?
What is the fastest, most effective way to clean the engine bay? I need it free
from dust, grease and dirt?
All this is for PSOs first photo shoot in a months time or so. I really want
her to look fantastic. All help is greatly appreciated as always.
By the way. Got a text message from a friend that works as bar manager at Jamie
Olivers new London restaurant "15". He let slip in a conversation
that he really like the Delorean he saw at an event he attended a month before,
guess who's Delorean that was. You betcha, I was well proud.
Regards to all,
Stevo.
