I have an auto and it had played up since I brought it 3 years ago. Rich Johnstone's transmision shifter has been installed in my car for about 2 months and it shifts like a dream. I haven't had a problem since; he also did a nice job of using multi- pin (serial lead) connections on the new governor, which is now mounted in a matchbox-sized box in the engine bay. The idea of using this connector is that should I have a problem (which is highly unlikely knowing how rigorous Richard's testing was) or if Richard develops a new computer governor with tiptronic shifting or variable shift points it should plug straight in with no wiring at all. Thanks again Richard, James RG
