-----Original Message-----The mode switch is vacuum-operated and won't work if you lose the feed from the engine - mine's quite entertaining because after turning the dial you wait a second or two and then hear a polite "thunk" as the flaps move. The DMCnews tech section has a bit on how to rebuild the switch, but I would exhaust other possibilities first.
