It could be James, you have to be careful that if you do overheat, a bit, ands your air con is still left on, then it will boil up and dump all your air con gas! I have a manual switch taken off the "otter stat" switch thingy in the engine bay water pipe, I believe Dave has similar. There is quite a lot to go wrong with the fan system...the "fan fail" module, that often does, relays, Lugar connectors on the overload switch thingy, and the fans them selves. Much has been published on the DML on the subject. If your temp gauge is working, that's something! Mine has packed up on Dusty! The fanzillas from PJ Grady are good, but they won't fix "pre-existing" faults. You need to check out the whole system! One thing that is guaranteed to wreck a PRV engine is running for any length of time "overheating"! Hi all, I drove my car from Colchester to London at the weekend, the temp was ok and the car ran fine for the 70 mile trip. Only problem was that when I stopped and put the car in the garage I looked at the temp gauge and it was a bit higher than normal (not in the red though), I stopped the engine and a couple of seconds later steam started pouring from the header tank area. Forutuantly I don't think any damage was done as it started fine the next day with no funny noises or anything. What caused this? I had my A/C on during the trip, and I turned it off as I was parking. Was the AC the only thing keeping the fans going? Any ideas?
