James, almost certainly the fault with your air con is "lack of gas", try and find a local garage that re-gasses air con. I have a very good man near me, he does lots of classics, Aston Martins etc. The actual gas cost HIM is about £30 a shot, expect to pay about £50-£75. Paul Feagan amazed me when we were touring around N.I , when he said he air con was not working, it was HOT. My son Robert, flatly refused to drive "Deloris" to Eurofest until I had the air con fixed! ( Simon Feagan is obviously a lot less spoiled than my Robert). Both it and Dusty's are working fine now. If there is a lack of gas, the compressor senses this and will not kick in. As a word of warning, if you have your air con on and your car "boils", due to faulty fans / otter switch etc., then the air con will "dump" all the gas and you will have to get it re-charged again. Keep an eye on your temp. gauge, if it gets hot, investigate and switch off the air con. I will try and let you know of events in the "deep south".
