I'm not sure about the DeLorean one's Martin, but I can assure you that
during my boating days I used loads of Stainless steel pop rivets when
building my 40 foot mast.

Erm - pop rivets by their nature are aluminium with a stainless pin. The
size, from memory are 3mm but you need to buy long ones, ie not the ones
that come in the Halfords kit
