Dean.
When I wrote the insurance article (back in March when my poilcy was
renewed) I asked all of the companies for the same thing, their
maximum mileage policy, and to include breakdown insurance.
Where it was made obvious to me that either the breakdown/legal cover
was optional I included the reduction for not taking it.
The Aon breakdown policy document I have includes homestart and is
operated by the RAC.
For the record, the boss of Firebond contacted me, my original quote
was for 5000miles.
The 3000mile policy with breakdown would have been £272, making them
well worth a look.
This was my error, for which I apologise.
The MD even suggested that DOC members could look forwared to a 10%
discount.
Firebond quotes are on 0870 444 0556 and www.firebond.co.uk
In hindsight, I have had a couple of private e-mails from various
individuals who have had quite different quotes, from an even wider
range of companies. Perhaps going forward the webmaster (Martin?)
could setup a database or spreadsheet that we could all access and
fill in our insurance quotes in. The figures are perhaps too dynamic
for a one-off article which only presented an accurate comparison at
the time of writing...

DOC 19 : 'Boeing' #0737
Didn't the Doc mag state that AON insurance included unlimited
mileage and free breakdown cover?
