  Hi James

 I doubt very much it will be the DVLA that has requested this inspection,
 it would more likely be the VRO (Vehicle Registration Office) 

However, there is nothing to worry about providing you have declared the
correct details upon application.

They do check from time to time to make sure that the car actually exists
and also that the chassis/vin, engine numbers and model of vehicle are all
correct.
