Re: [doc] To Lambda or not to Lambda, that is the question.

Hi John

Just removing the lambda system by capping off the port won't get you
the advantages a non-lambda engine will give, it all comes down to
ignition timing, and the curve on the Volvo dizzy is quite different.

Since we've started, I must've seen 5 cars come in with the wrong relay
in the lambda "hole". FWIW you don't need to buy a Bosch one for about
£12, we have generic ones for £2.50. My own car had the wrong relay in
it when it arrived.

I'm surprised we didn't pick up on the non-buzzing frequency valve when
your car was in, John, though both Dave and I thought it was a pretty
quick DeLorean to begin with, and a non-functioning lambda system will
make the car much worse than yours, in my experience (with my own!).

Let me guess: The car responds much better with the accellerator on the
floor? That's because of a little white microswitch on the throttle
spool which makes the lambda system go "a bit rich" - that will create a
noticable improvement.

Seen plenty of those switches broken too :-)

Best Wishes

Martin
