List / Alistair,
I've just had another thought reference Pilot 25, I see some of the air
vents are blanked off. (Almost certainly because the hand made doors don't
have the internal ducting) But, I remember Brendan Montgomery (a friend of
mine from N.I.) , one of the volunteer test drivers of the early cars,
saying that they did not have all of the heater / Air-con stuff working.
It just depends how far the "re-fit" went, before the car was sold!
I will be interested to see if a simple "Re-gas" gets it working!
I wonder if the just "stuck" a new engine in before sale, complete with air
con? Can you see the engine number? Just above the cat. It should be less
than 500 by rights.
I re-iterate what Phil says, you have an important piece of history in that
car. Look after it! I'd fit a battery isolation switch and use it every
single time you park the car up. The thought of developing an electrical
fault, and going up in flames makes me go cold.

Hi Chris -- thanks for the great additional info and for the nice
photos. The pilot-25 vin plate was particularly interesting. I'll update
my listing accordingly.
