I went to this on my own the year before last.  It was great fun with loads
of attention and some interesting cars.  Especially good if you are
interested in the history of the airfield (Guy Gibson artefacts, Nigger's
grave etc.)  Delorean appearance much appreciated by the organiser - make
sure you give his son a ride.

PS Did a good job yesterday for a chap's 30th birthday surprise, as set up
by his wife.  He was most astounded and delighted.  A potential owner, name

Dear Sir/Madam,

Over the the weekend of 13th to 15th Aug 2004, we are holding a Custom,
Sports, Classic and American Car show at RAF Scampton, off the A15, 5 miles
North of Lincoln. The show will be again be held in conjunction with the
Summer Fun Day hosted by the Scampton Welfare Action Group (SWAG).

It will commence on Saturday 14th with a cruise/road-run from Scampton to a
to Brayford Wharf in the centre of  Lincoln at 1 pm, followed by an evening
of entertainment at the Vulcan Club at Scampton where the beer is £1.40 a
pint.  Camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights. On Sunday 15th
there will be the usual Show?n?Shine. For the first time this year we have
decided to charge £5.00 to enter your car for the Sunday show, but if you
camp the entry fee is included in the pitch price.  Attractions will
hopefully include, a bouncy castle, hot-dogs and burgers, bar (V. Cheap), an
indoor craft fair, a flypast by a Spitfire and Hurricane,  and much more.
The show will be open to all types of vehicles, trailered racecars, on going
projects, whatever. So if it?s got wheels, bring it. Camping opens at 12
noon on Friday and the Sunday show opens to the public at 11am and goes on
till about 5pm.  For those that are camping over we have live entertainment
on the Friday and Saturday nights.

Costs are as follows:
Camping:
Weekend:  £10.00 per unit including Show n Shine entry fee.
Sat Night Only:  £7.50 per unit including Show n Shine entry fee.

Show n Shine Only:  £5.00 to enter car for show n shine.

Sunday Spectator: £1.00 per car.

With camping from a £7.50 per pitch and the beer at around £1.40 a pint, it
should be a cheap, fun weekend! The more we get in the merrier. Last year we
had about 100 campers and over 500 cars on show.  In addition last years
cruise consisted of over 85 vehicles, from a cobra to a couple of stretch
limo's. (And just about everything between.)

Please, if you can, put this show and date in your club newsletter events
listing (or by word of mouth at meetings), along with my contact details.
Maybe you have a member or two who could come along. But I ask anyone
interested in showing a car to pre-register (especially campers and
cruisers) with me by post, including a stamped addressed envelope, prior to
the date. Please apply to the address in the header for a pre-entry and
information pack. I can then get an idea of how many will turn up. As far as
I am concerned the more on show the merrier. If you wish to only come on the
Sunday please still register, as it?ll make life easier this end, and it?ll
only cost you a couple of stamps.

2003?s event raised approximately £8000 for charity, £4900 of which went to
the Make a Wish Foundation, to help make dreams come true for children with
life threatening illnesses.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Rees Adams
