It's definitely not from a Fiat x1/9.
   
  I've driven a few in the past and their stalks are flat and narrow where you push them up/down, whereas the DeLorean's are larger at that end.

Almost positive it is from a Fiat X 1/9,or at least they use a 
perfect matching one,same with the radiator fans,and interior 
lights,just look at a Fiat X 1/9,and you will find a "lot" of same 
parts.
