But dont you need all the adaptors and connectors and pipes that connect and a way to vent out the old gas and replace the pag oil, plus the die to check you dont have any leaks and a uv light???  Wont it all work out the same price in the end??
   
  I believe the best way to do all this is choose for yourself what you want done and go with that.  Seems any suggestions on this forum always end in arguments and someone has always got to be right, we are all here to give ideas and suggestions.

In other words, they don't have any drop-in and didn't want to invest in 
a bottle just for you. Sorry to be cynical about this but I've spoken to 
a lot of engineers and the choice for them is to charge for a 
conversion, AND for gas they buy in bulk, or just a re-gas that'll use a 
tenth of the volume in a bottle that they'd have to buy in.

Now off the top of my head, the DeLorean uses 2lbs of refridgerant (?) 
and 1kg is 2.2lbs.
