Yep, that's right, vin #2062 owned by Chris Harding has passed its MOT.
Chris lives about 3 miles from me here in Kent and owns his own thriving
little garage. He bought the car from DMUK in September last year and
undertook a right-hand conversion almost as soon as it arrived. Despite
spending months in storage due to lack of time and space, Chris has made
fantastic progress and I often see the lights on in his shop well on
into the night (usually on my way to the pub!).
I wouldn't say it has been done "the way I would" but he certainly hit
and overcame all the problems we'd expect. He ended up using a very rare
Granada steering rack, brake system from a Rover, custom-made his vent
box, adapted his wiper mechanism himself using cardboard and string
(hehe) and came up with a -really- novel way of wiring up the mirror
switch. It's certainly nothing like any of the Wooler-Hodec cars, but
knowing Chris, if it doesn't work "just right", then it'll come apart
and be done again!
Now he just needs to sort out the head gaskets and register it.
