If your thermotime switch is shorted out, this would could your cold
start injector to spray continuously causing over rich mixture

It is the small brown connector on the LHS of the thermostat housing.

Unplug it to see if things improve, or alternatively unplug the cold
start injector. It's the blue plug poking up near the oil filler.

To do a proper test, unbolt the injector (two allen bolts) and place in
jam jar - bung the hole it came out of to stop vacuum leak. From *cold*
when you turn the engine over it should spray for about 10 seconds.
