Hi,
Dash is all fixed and re-sprayed ! (good tip on removing cable from
Lambda Dan! helped no end).
Guy came out yesterday afternoon and fixed the crack, took the
binnacle off and stripped the kneepads last night + replaced the
binnacle lamps with LED's (I've done a pic of polarity in case anyone
wants to do it - will save you some time!). Masked and sprayed up
this afternoon and re-assembled everything after tea :-)
I will take some final photos of the finished thing tomorrow when its
light and post some pics of each stage tomorrow.
A couple of tips from issues I had on the LED change - one bulb
holder was missing from the binnacle, after visits to 5 car parts
shops and a local garage and no joy, tried a vauxhall dealer (local
garage guy reckoned it looked like vauxhall one) - Vecta lampholders
are fine! slightly different locating tabs, but it fits!
Don't change the Battery lamp for a LED - if you do it stays on all
the time, leave an original lamp in that one.
And finally - Masking tape and DeLorean internal trim don't mix - ya
may as well try sticking it on water !! (well, at least B&Q masking
tape won't stick). Got some to stay put (ish) but ended up using
gaffer tape - and that didn't even want to stick.
Perhaps I should have asked for Tiger Seal masking tape !
Cheers
