Sorry, forgot to mention at the time of driving around in a 2.9i Granada I was merely 18.
 
It just goes to show that you shouldn't go for run-of-the-mill cars that every other 18 year old woul drive.

I once got insured on a 1988 Ford Granada 2.9i Ghia X.

It was crazily fast and very powerful, yet something comparatively tame like a Golf GTi would've been completely out of the question.
