A hose pipe up all and any of the pipes/ hoses until it all runs clean,
it could take hours!  The bleed fitting is on top of the thermostat /
water pump housing, but be careful they can be seized in. By rights you
should remove it entirely and permanently fit one on Martin or James
bleeding kits at less than £20.

Now I've got my rad removed what's the best way to flush the cooling
system?

Any special procedures needed when refilling the system, where are the
bleed screws and engine drain plugs?
