It isn't an increase in Import Duty its just the fact that Deloreans are
no longer getting the
reduced rate they used to get which was Duty free and 5% VAT this was
because they were entering the
country under the 'Item of Historic Interest' tariff.

Now any imported Deloreans will have to pay the full amount of duty
which any other car would have to pay,
I think this is 10% duty and 17.5% VAT.

As a 92 Porsche is of no 'interest' or 'historic' it would have never
applied to your friends car so
he is not affected, he would have to pay full price anyway.

I have seen the recent emails complaining about the increase in Import
Duty
for some recently imported DeLoreans.

A good friend is importing his '92 Porsche 911 from HongKong and hasn't
heard of this increase. Can anyone point us in the right direction for
info
on the web ... even better would be personal experiences.
