Re: [doc] Water temp switch

I know DeLores doesn't have a cat, and Backy has a free-flow exhaust so I'd imagine where it goes would be a lot cooler. Fans on cat-equipped cars tend to cut in sooner because of the heat generated just below the otterstat. Personally I wouldn't like to rely on a zip tie there, unless I had to, and if new replacements are available, why go for something different? BTW although they are identical in shape to the Metro, that one cuts in hotter. The ones we carry are listed as for Volvo 760 and Renault 30, and are identical in size and shape to the original one. I believe Rich also had a problem getting his to seal, but that's a hazy memory.

Dave new temp switches come on a few degree's sooner than the regular ones,
improving the cooling, both Dave and I like them. But they are a different
size and the water probe is bigger, enabling the switch to be turned through
180 degrees with out any danger of air locking around the probe, so that the
wires come in from the top. We have both operated like that for the last two
years, so PLEASE don't tell me why it won't work Martin, because it does.
