M,
Perhaps Hammerite's 'Direct to Rust' formula does not work 'Direct
to Epoxy' it is after all, primarily for painting onto metal
surfaces.
Coming from a boating background and having played around with a
painted fibreglass/epoxy boat hulls in the past there are very few
paints that will adhere to this type of surface, hence I suppose,
the advent of coloured gel coats.
Only keeping it light hearted :-)
At the end of the day if you can get epoxy easily and in a colour
that you are happy with then have a go, it's all about learning from
experience.
