There are also some "Flyers", We have a C Reg which should be 1984, and a D
reg for 1986! Don't ask me how, but we have!

Unless the car comes with the original bill of sale, over here they get
registered as the year of manufacture.

It's the same here - a car can be registered within two years of the end of
production of that model and receive that year's
plate. There are one or two "A" reg DeLoreans over here. A is 1984.
