clicking sound

My chevette used to do that (eeee) apparently Id got a cog missing on my
starter motor, and if I stopped with that missing tooth in the wrong place
the
motor would engage with the flywheel and stick there without turning. If I
pushed the
car backwards (in gear) just a push it would click and fall back - and start
ok.
