Item Description:

For sale here I have a front fascia from an 1981 DeLorean, with lights, DMC plate and a bonnet badge. Please wait for pictures to load to accompany text.

The polyurethane (I think) fascia, is, as seen, in need of some repair but I personally believe this easy to repair.

The cracks (pictured) have all been covered with fibreglass and can be sanded down easilly. There is paint chipping throughout but again, this should be easy to remedy. I expect many car bodywork shops could get this looking as good as new for practically nothing, or anyone who's had experience with the stuff should find it easy, too. It does suffer from a minor 'eyebrow' effect that occours on a lot of DeLoreans, it's sadly unavoidable. This is where the top part droops over the headlamps - it's not very noticible, though, and I've seen far worse on the cars themselves. All the photos show the most obvious points of repair, if you want more photos please mail me at frink@xxxx and I'll email you as many as I can. The photo's make the paint damage look worse than it is, which is annoying. The reason I'm selling this and all the affiliated pieces is that I need a new guitar, and, well, such things aren't cheap.... If you have any questions about the work that would nee!
d doing to it, again, feel free to mail me.

It's probably not suitable for mounting to a real DeLorean, but for a quirky, and big, room decoration, you can't beat this. Certainly a conversation peice. I think it would be better suited to life as a display peice, so that's why I'm selling it with all the bits. Monted to a wall, it's a great light feature, or maybe a very original display shelf? Maybe a Back To The Future-themed display for the garage?

For those of you with an historical interest in DeLoreans, the fasica is dated "23 Dez 81" which i belive makes it an early peice, I can't remember when in 81 the first cars were made but I think it was quite late into the year. Either way, it's a festively-timed DeLorean :)

Included are headlamps, and indicator lamps, VERY similar to the kind used on the 12-odd (out of 8,500) right hand drive DeLoreans. Unfortuantly, I have no pictures of the indicator lamps, but if you want them, please email me.To my knowledege, these lamps still work if the right voltage is put through them. This definatly enchances the idea of it being used for display purposes, it would be great mounted to a wall, fantastic lighting effect for a recreation room, games room, pool room, car fan's bedroom, garage.... anything. Maybe even a Planet Hollywood-esqe Back To The Future Display? The lights are fitted into the fascia as seen, using just the tight fit to hold them in place. However, I will include two Renault light shrouds to house them in properly. They will take the smallest (and I mean that) modification to make fit. The lights do not need modification. This is job that a novice DIY-er with a hacksaw can do in five minutes. Pic of a shroud:

The badge is an offical, UNUSED, BRAND NEW 'DeLorean' bonnet badge, used on the late '82 and '83 cars. Being a huge DeLorean fan, I hate to part with this piece especially, but it's for a good cause and I think it would benifit the buyer more than me. For 100% accuracy, it should be mounted on the right side of the bonnet where it meets the fascia, but placing it on the fascia's top right area (picture instructions will be packaged with the item to the winner) should look just as good. Pics:

The DMC plate is another original 80's DeLorean item, used for press photos, dealership display cars, etc. It looks fantastic and is great to add to the front bumper. You can just use double sided tape, or, if you want to, buy an offical DeLorean plate holder, which costs virtually nothing. These plates go in excess of $30 on eBay. It's in mint condition. Depending on your choice, you can have the American-style DMC plate, or a English-style DMC 12 plate (DMC 12 being the proper designation for the car). You can see them both here: (by the way, the white-ish parts by the plate are the remants of self adhevsive tape that should wash off easilly)

American Style..........and English style.
The fascia comes complete with a replica grille. This is not the real DeLorean grille, it's a salvaged Renault one. As you can see, it fits it pretty well, and if this is being used as a wall display, it's hard to disagree that it's more than adequate. The average car buff could never tell, and even to a hardened DeLorean nut, it pretty much looks the part. The badge is just a thick card cut-out, I'm afraid. But again, it certainly looks the part and you can buy a proper DMC badge from DeLorean.com in Houston for around $50. The grille costs more, but, like I said, the one I supply definatly looks the part. I'll also include another replacement sheet of print for the badge.

Front Fascias are never seen on eBay, and buying them from the DeLorean specialists like Houston's DeLorean Motor Company doesn't really justify using them for non-car purposes. And they're pretty rare, too, like a lot of DeLorean parts.

To recap; you get:

Main fascia4 Headlamps2 indicator lampsOriginal "DeLorean" badgeGrille with replica "DMC" badge2 Renault light shrouds should you need themOriginal DeLorean Motor Company "DMC" metal license plateCustom made "DMC 12" number plate

Take advantage of this, as I doubt you'll see a package like this and this cheap on eBay again! Thanks for looking, and good luck. I have all positive feedback and the majority of my sales are international. If you have any questions, please mail me, frink@xxxx, and I'll be happy to get back to you.Right, now for the pictures. There's plenty, so please be patient! Some of these may not load the first time..... right click on each failed image and choose "reload image/show picture." Or just refresh...
