Re: [doc] shiny wheels

Tony,

If you just leave a blasted finish, it will look like "silver painted sandpaper"!..not very attractive...
You need your rims professionally Polished..look in you local area for "Metal Polisher"..you will need have the tyres removed.....polishing cost should be between £30-50 each..

Then you will be like Delores rims..nice to look at but need keeping polished ever time they get wet ( quick go with brasso).

You could have your newly polished rims stove lacquered..cost about another £30 each

Best regards

Subject: [doc] shiny wheels

I am having my wheels sandblasted to getrid of nasty black paint.  They have offered to powder coat them but I don't fancy that.  Perhaps I should just put some lacquer on the bare metal?  Anyone got any thoughts?

PS Stian, thanks for info.  Wingrayhave offered to reconditioned my water pump bearings if I can get it back to them.  They say there are no new pumps in the country, or even in France at the moment.  Could be a race against time for Gaydon, unless I tow a water tank behind the car!
