RE: [doc] Delorean-Hire Job Details

This is always going to be a sticky point for any enthusiasts group.

The biggest problem is that you will always have the extreme, the one side has nothing but love for the item, and would never dream of turning their purist hobby and love for something into a business. On the other hand you have a business opportunity, less love of the item, but still an interest.

This happened years ago on the UKVAC (United Kingdom Video Arcade Collectors) group, and its happened on others. People would have fall outs, and in the case of UKVAC, in some cases things went to extreme, people were accused of poaching machines to make money, rather than buying to collect for all to enjoy.

We all love the DMC 12, I'm sure there is no malice involved, but there *IS* a market out there for specialists cars, and somebody needs to be getting a piece of that pie, ideally contributing back into the club.

Best regards

Mike

Hi Dean,

I chose to make a private comment/suggestion to you, so as not to bother
other Listers with this silly subject ... you have brought it on Line so I
will explain to you simply.

You asked the DOC for volunteers for your profit-making Hire-firm a few
months ago, now that you have those interested parties, you should email
them separately ... not torment everyone when you have another Wedding,
Birthday Party, whatever!

My personal opinion is that DeLoreans shouldn't become synonomous with
hire-companies. I don't mind lending my cars to a Charity, etc but making
money out of it, nope not for me!

As for RollsRoyce ... exactly ... why do you think Bentley is out there
making money!?

Cheers,        IAN
