[doc] Expensive insurance for Smokey! (CP-NEC)

Hi all,
 
well, Smokeys running very well, starts first time .... no more smoke problems under the dash!... she starts fine hot or cold.
 
So I was thinking about an MOT next.... but I needed to insure the thing first... big problem.. I`m only 24 and I can`t get cover as a classic car untill i`m 25, It`s going to cost me 1631 pounds a year :0(    this is the best quote I have been given...... so at the moment it looks like i`m not going anywhere untill 20/3/04 (my 25th bday). the insurance company also wanted an approved alarm fitted (I have an engine cut off and battery cut off fitted already!!). but James Hartshorn who owned this car before me didn`t need one fitted with his insurance (if you read this James, who did you go with for insurance?).
 
doesn`t look like Smokey will be at the NEC after all, unless somebody knows a cheaper insurance company?.... any ideas welcome....Sorry Chris Looks like someone else will have to take my place at the NEC.  :o::(
