Mark,
Always a bit nerve wracking your first post!

The body die thing has been under intense negotiations by several club
members for many months.

Personally I think the dies have "Historical" interest only. When they
were in use, they needed constant attention/ repairs etc because S/Steel
is such a difficult metal to press.

I would be very surprised if these dies will ever "work" again, firstly
because with the exception of one front wing, there is simply no demand
for the panels with good stocks al over the place.

I would like them to be recovered just as historical artefacts and to
perhaps put to rest once and for all this baloney about the British
government ordering their destruction. It was simply a matter off great
heavy lumps of metal having no further practical purpose until the
"fishing net weight" job came along.

I'm sure some one will write a book about it...well me and Andy
actually!!

Chris Parnham

HI
First time I posted on here so I hope I am doing it right.
These body presses, strange I was just thinking about them in the past
few
days....
Now I am new to the DeLorean scene so please excuse any stupidity. I am
getting very interested in DeLoreans and have seen the DeLorean company
web
site in the USA. Do they know about these dies? I personnaly think I
would
be a great idea to salvage them and run off some panels, perhaps a kit
car
version could be produced or is it all pie in the sky stuff?
