[doc] Re: Radiator removal on Flopsy

Hi Mike,

Well there was much cussing and swearing from me and plenty of scraped
knuckles and arms as I took the front of the car apart yesterday
afternoon (in the rain).  Getting the radiator cowling off was a right
sod, I've given it to Dave as MXI's is missing and I cannot be asked
to put it back!!  Having got the hoses off and undone everything, the
only way I could get the assembly (complete with condenser and fans)
out was to drop the anti roll bar down.  Apparantly my rad is
"buggered" (technical term I think!) according to the refurb guy, but
it will come back good as new so at least I wont have to worry about
my cooling system any more (fingers crossed!).  My car sat for several
years before I got her so its probably pretty sludged up - couple that
with not only it being the original one now 23 yrs old but also that
the car has done 100,000+ miles and its probably overdue being refurbed!

Mind you now (with the car in the air) I can get under it properly and
tidy up the bit of the chassis where the old brake cylinder leaked
fluid all over it and check out the rest of it properly.  The frame
luckily appears to be in pretty good nick from what I can see, but I'd
like to investigate further whilst I've got the opportunity.

I've just got the fun and games of putting it all back together in a
couple of weeks and trying to remember where all those bolts go....

Nite all,

Claire (with backache, arm ache and plenty of bruises!)
