[doc] Door Mirrors Removal ????.........:)

Hi to all and the 'fountain of information' :)

I am going to remove the door mirrors and sand them down past the 
poor paint job some numpty has given them over the years :)

Is there any thing anyone can pass on about removing them... 
especially getting the mirror glass out so that i can respray them 
properly?  also.....can anyone recommend a good paint finish for 
them??
