The jump start post is connectd directly to the +ve battery terminal.
 
I use my auto charger/ conditioner on this post and the engine block (-ve).

jump post (and the earth on the engine block) in the engine bay.
I normally use a battery cutoff switch, but I would like to top up 
the charge before the weekend. Unfortunately I am having passenger 
door problems (sticking) and can't access the battery cover properly. 
Are any of the electrical circuits going to be damaged as a result....
