Rick,
Good cars have been bought from the US for less!
It all depends on what you pick and how long you are prepared to wait for
the right car to come along and how much you check out your particular car.
You can't generalise.
A few cars have been used as "Daily drivers", as our American cousins say,
but not that many in the UK. Most are cosseted and only come out on fine
days. You have to remember they are 20 year old cars, that had a fair few
weakness built into them. Once all these well known, daft faults are fixed,
it should be reliable enough......but the more vigorously you use your
"Right Foot", the more problems you will have! This applies to all cars.
All the other stuff you mentioned has been gone over many times on this
list...talk to Martin.
Regards
Chris Parnham

hello again,
iv'e got £10k to spend on importing a de,will it get a me decent
looking car?
Iv'e been offered one for 10k including shipping, which i'm told
needs no work and is in good clean condition! And will only need UK
MOT'ing, good clean and servicing,iv'e banked on spending £1.5k to do
the mot work,
so is there such thing as a bargain delorean...
I plan to use the car as my daily transport, the only problem i can
see at the moment is insurance.
Also i'll be putting a CD player and new speakers in the de,anybody
done this? I don't want to cut wires, speakers look hard to change as
two of them are in the dash! i will only change the stereo,if the
original unit isn't there.
I'd also like to a fit a alarm and immobilizer, anybody done this?
Another question, can you get a workshop manual?
I CAN'T wait to be a de owner, and driver,i hope it fits in my garage!
Rick.
