Re: [doc] Door struts, cat pipes and alternators

Hi Martin/ DMUK

Whats the current output of the new bosch alternators?

Ducellier 70 amps
Motorola 90 amps
Bosch  150 amps ???

Sounds like my blowers are running backwards then because i get v little blow through. Mind you, I need to compare this with a good example. Are the blower motors easy to get to or is it another dashboard out time?Does your blowers have a separate run winding or something to ensure it runs in the correct direction all the time or is it a direct copy of the oem part?

Regards,

Nick.

Dear All

We've received a few enquiries for door struts and cat bypass pipes over
the past few weeks.

I'm pleased to announce our new batch of struts are now ready to send
out, now improved with greater damping and a small change in length.
Price is £60 per pair, as before.

Our new batch of cat bypass pipes are also in and will be ready for
shipping by Friday. £85 including gasket, stainless-steel bolts, metal
locknuts and stainless washers, plus a free U-clamp.

We have also completed testing of our new Bosch alternators. The time
and effort that goes into adapting these units for the DeLorean is quite
large, so I'd rather take on a number at a time and the outlay is
considerable for this - please drop me an e-mail if you would like one
and I can get an idea of numbers. They are direct brand new replacements
and come with a new stainless-steel tensioning bracket. They also carry
a full Bosch warrenty (through us). Lead-time on the first batch will be
roughly three weeks. Price is £175

On a side note, I've not had a chance to put blower motors on the
website but they've been selling like hot cakes lately! A lot of owners
get the same problem - lots of action from the fan, but little more than
a slight waft of air coming from the vents. Almost everyone thinks this
must be down to a problem with the vent flaps, however it is a known
problem with these motors where they spontaneously spin backwards, and
there's nothing that can be done about it! We've also seen bearings that
have fallen apart, units that are rusted solid, ones that work but make
a terriffic racket, and good old-fashioned "just stopped working"
(mine!) These are £38.95
Best Wishes

Martin
