Re: [DML] Heads-Up Display & Washing the car

What brand and model GPS was this?

    HEADS_UP Speedometer:

I drove the DeLorean today for the first time with a GPS heads-up
display and I must say that "I like it".  I have not positioned it yet,
I just set it in front of the binnacle and it worked fine. When you
project it onto safety glass without the supplied film, there is a ghost
image (one from each glass surface) but it is not really distracting so
I may not install the film.  My only complaint is that they use too good
of a power cord and it is a bit stiff.

My speedo gives me troubles.  It reads about 20mph high at 55 and is not
very stable. Some day I'll get it resolved but even then I will use the
HUD.  When I'm driving either the wheel or my hands on the wheel block
the speedometer.  The HUD puts a nice sized LED 2 digit speed display on
the windshield where a slight eye flick makes it readable.  These can be
had on Amazon for about $100 (put it on your Mothers Day or Fathers Day
wish list)

FWIW ... a while back I wired a 12Vdc outlet on a coiled wire to use
with GPS's and the like.  That way I don't have the power adapter
sticking out of the cigarette lighter outlet and in the way. Eventually
I'll wire another that is switched to be used for the HUD.

    WASHING THE CAR:

I washed the car the other day and was not satisfied so I tried using
white vinegar and water and it seems to work really well.  It cleans
well and the slight acid nature of vinegar seems to remove that slight
grey corrosion that SS can accumulate. So the SS seems brighter than before.
