I use a full synthetic 75-90 (Castrol or Valvoline something, but I'm too lazy to walk out to my garage right now). The shifts are noticeably easier on a cold trans in the winter.
Of course, the usual warnings about hard shifting apply (fluid level correct, using a braided clutch line, and clutch master and slave working properly and bled completely).Jake Kamphoefner1063On Mon, Oct 14, 2013 at 9:36 PM, Ian <texas.twister@...> wrote:
Make sure your shift cable is correctly adjusted. If not correct it can make shifting hard.
Ian YanagisawaThe shifting on my manual trans has been getting a little difficult lately and I am thinking of replacing the gear lube. I was wondering if anyone has tried any new types of gear lube with perhaps some additives that improved shifting performance which did not exist back in the early 80s?
