             If Steve Rice and Bill Robertson have merely traded passwords, and Steve Rice is writing Bill Robertson's posts on Bill Robertson's behalf and Bill Robertson is writing Steve Rice's posts on Steve Rice's behalf, then third person is indeed appropriate.



If however Steve Rice and Bill Robertson have in fact been merged into a single individual, then you are correct that first person would be appropriate for their new combined identity.



Both Steve Rice and Bill Robertson ate french toast for breakfast this morning, so additional evidence is still necessary to determine correct grammatical usage.



Regarding the OP's question: Bill Robertson has put 1,100 miles on his odometer thus far during his latest jaunt (he is now in DC, still on schedule to clear just over 1,500 miles by the time he returns home -- about 75% of Steve Rice's mileage on his last trip). Both Steve Rice and Bill Robertson are pushing for 10,000 annual miles by December 2012.
