Too late: Just as "kleenex" has entered the common lexicon for any manufacturer's tissue, "xerox" for any manufacturer's photocopier, "linoleum" for any manufacturer's floor covering, etc, "freon" is commonly used now to refer to any manufacturer's refrigerant.
