It was middle Pennsylvania. 

When I got to my super secret Motel 6 in New Jersey I discovered that they had rented out all 300 rooms (some sort of race was in town). I continued down to the Pennsylvania border where I discovered that motels there wanted $150 for 3 hours of sleep. Having just done that at DCS, I decided to drive the rest of the way through then wait for the sun to come up before knocking on my cousin's door.

Next time I'm sleeping on your couch.
