Here is Chad's original "problem". If he is having issues with the car running in heat I am sure they can be fixed without having to gut the K-Jet system and stick a carburetor on. Realize even a carb is not immune to the effects of heat. If you do not figure out what the problem is now with the K-jet system, you may not "fix" it by going carb. If the problem is in the fuel tank, you still have to have a pump and a pick-up system to get the fuel to the carb. If that is where the problem is a carb is not going to help. I agree it is very inconvenient to get stuck anywhere. There are a lot of other things that can stop you besides the fuel system! If you do not have enough confidence in your car to take it on a long trip putting a carb on it isn't going to magically make reliable.
