I may as well come out and say it, because anyone who calls Borgeson him or herself and asks for DeLorean measurements will get the same information: Toby's steering columns are made from Borgeson components. Note that whereas a stock steering column is 5/8" diameter, Borgeson shafts are 3/4" diameter. OD of Borgeson's U joint assemblies is the same as OEM, however, so there's no clearance issues with the shock tower. It's kind of hard to measure overall end to end length of a DeLorean column while it's installed in the car, but there's really no need to -- I will simply subtract the length of a flexible coupling assembly from whatever Toby is buying. I will of course need to order two shafts -- one for either side of the flexible coupling. Stopped by Autozone tonight. Help! brand #31000 is the same size as a Borgeson flexible coupling (it also happens to be the same size as a 1970's Lincoln coupling). A 1980's F150 coupling is actually slightly smaller. Replacement cost is $10 now. As soon as my new column is installed I will post pics. And of course the offer to test drive my car at DMA FFT'12 still stands.
