Welding is not necessary -- Borgeson can build a steering column with either vibration reducing U joints or a traditional rag joint. I am leaning towards the latter for mine. Did you see my post about Borgeson building steering columns for a stateside DeLorean vendor (not John)? They already have DeLorean specs in their database.
