Optimas do not seem to be any better than a good, branded battery. You pay a lot more but you do not seem to get anything better. Buying from a store like Sears can be a good deal, they have very good prices during their sales. The other great thing about buying from a big chain store is if you have a problem they have stores all over for returns and adjustments. They will also test your alternator and battery for free. I have seen Optima batteries suddenly die for no good reason and cannot be recharged.
