[DML] Low Pressure Cut Off Switch for r134a?

Does anyone know if there is a better low pressure switch to use for
r134a applications? I am currently using my stock switch with r134a
and am very happy since my vent temp is 43 degrees.
The reason I am asking is a friend of mine suspects his low pressure
switch to be bad and if there is a better switch to use for r134a he
would like to go that route.
I did a little research and it looks like the stock switch cross
references with a 1980 Buick Centruty. The part number at AutoZone is
MT0207 and its $10.99. Has anyone found a better part to use for
r134a?
Another question would be, can he remove the switch without evacuating
the system or will this open the system when he unscrews it?
Thanks,
