A friend of mine who is a top rated Tire Rack installer sees this all the time - BMW's seem to be especially bad. But, all alloy wheels seem to corrode to the hub (the centering part of the hub that is close fitting) and considerable effort is required to remove them.

He has to clean the hub and wheel with a wire brush and apply a small amount of anti-seize to the hub before putting the wheel back on. This seems to prevent or minimize the problem in the future.
